Description

The 2024 SOLC ( Student Organization Leadership Conference) presentation was a pivotal moment for student organizations, effectively introducing them to the world of philanthropy. By showcasing the importance of fundraising and the potential impact of their efforts, the presentation empowered student leaders to embrace philanthropic initiatives.

The Office of Annual Giving provided practical examples of how Cougar Crowdfunding and Giving Day can serve as valuable tools for these organizations. With clear guidance on setting up campaigns and leveraging university resources, attendees left with actionable strategies to enhance their fundraising capabilities. Overall, the presentation not only educated student orgs about philanthropy but also inspired them to actively participate in cultivating a culture of giving within the university community.

At the end of the presentation, student orgs participate in a case for support activity where student orgs have 10 minutes to come up with a case for support following criteria we provide them:
- 100 word max
- Provide a who you are, what is your need, and a compelling "ask"!

After this summer presentation, we had over 23 student organizations sign up for our future Giving Day!
