Our goal was to enhance our on campus presence and begin to educate our students on the meaning of Days of Giving, how it impacts them as students, and how they can participate. One of the most unique aspects of our plan was our 1st annual Pickle Prowl! UNCSA is known to have one of the most creative mascots - the Fighting Pickle! To enhance our student engagement during our 48 hour Days of Giving Campaign, we created the Pickle Prowl which involved hiding 4 plush Pickles across campus. Each Pickle had a name and humorous bio that gave potential clues about where they might be hidden. Photos and clues were distributed via social media - if a student found one of the Pickles, they had the ability to direct $500 in challenge dollars to any area/fund on campus. Each lucky student that found one of the Pickles was instructed to take a photo of themselves with their new friend (which they got to keep), where they found it, what area they would like to support and why that area is important to them. This effort generated great buzz amongst our students and allowed them to make a meaningful difference to a part of campus that was meaningful to them. This generated wonderful stories from our winning students. We learned we need more Pickles in 2025!
