Annual Giving Manager

The University of Maine Foundation is seeking an Annual Fund Manager to oversee annual giving initiatives that generate private philanthropic support for the University of Maine.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute annual fundraising strategies in collaboration with leadership.
  • Conceptualize, write, and implement annual fund appeals.
  • Manage print, email, and digital campaigns for fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinate special fundraising initiatives, including memorial giving, crowdfunding, tribute giving, text-to-donate, and giving days.
  • Oversee the class-giving program and recruit a new class-giving manager annually.
  • Maintain the annual fund calendar and track expenses.
  • Analyze data to develop segmentation strategies and achieve fundraising goals.
  • Serve as the annual giving liaison to the Director of Athletic Development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or two years of annual fundraising experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong understanding of marketing and annual fund principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Excellent persuasive writing skills.

Preferred:

  • At least three years of experience in annual fund management and advancement work.
  • Experience creating print, email, and social media appeals, website design, and basic Adobe Creative Suite skills.

Office Presence:  The successful candidate will be required to work fully on-site during the onboarding period.  Afterward, the role will maintain a regular in-office presence, with the potential for some remote work during the week.
