The Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J., seeks a strategic, analytical professional eager to oversee the administration of the alumni and development database and the analysis of engagement and fundraising data. In a newly designed position, the ideal candidate will have an innate desire and ability to implement efficient processes, analyze data, identify trends, and develop modeling for fundraising and engagement success. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Leadership Giving and demonstrate self-motivation toward individual, team, and institutional goals.

Founded in 1864, The Peddie School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school of 535 students, grades 9 through post-graduate. Peddie is primarily a boarding school with over 60 percent of students and 90 percent of the faculty living on campus and a strong emphasis on admitting a diverse community of students who demonstrate the highest degrees of excitement, curiosity, and character. Peddie’s extraordinary resources include the highly professional, collaborative, and dedicated faculty, an innovative and rigorous curriculum, and an attractive, 280-acre campus with exceptional facilities located 25 minutes east of Princeton and about an hour from New York City and Philadelphia.

Thanks to the generosity of Ambassador Walter H. Annenberg ’27 and other donors, Peddie now ranks among the nation’s most highly endowed independent schools. Its $455 million endowment enables the school to offer more than $10 million in financial assistance to 35-40 percent of the student body.

We have recently completed a $106M campaign and the momentum is palpable. We are hiring for this position to integrate analytics into our data operations and management efforts. This is an effort to align and evolve our data operations with best practices. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success analyzing fundraising-related data sets, have excellent database fluency, possess a strategic mindset, and embody a deep commitment to Peddie’s mission.

Data Operations and Analytics

Areas of responsibility include overseeing all functions that relate to data entry, gift processing, records management, and reporting.  Key activities include:

Database Management, Gift Entry, Reconciliation & Technology:

  • Serve as the alternate gift processor, ensuring timely and accurate gift entry during peak periods or when the primary gift processor is unavailable;
  • Lead the transition of the A&D office to the RE NXT database from Raiser’s Edge 7;
  • Take the lead on maintaining written documentation for all policies and procedures and establishing new policies and procedures as required to ensure the highest degree of database integrity and transparency;
  • Take the lead on creating and managing BBNC pages for donations, giving/event attendee directory and event registrations;
  • Partner with the Business Office for annual audits, cash flow, gift reconciliation, and the 990 and any other Business Office related tasks as required;
  • Partner with the Technology Office for annual information transfer of constituent data, all vendor contracts, and all digital record keeping as needed;
  • Partner with the Director of Engagement and The Peddie Fund on all aspects of giving page development with Give Campus, direct mail and email solicitations;
  • Partner with the Director of Donor Relations to execute stewardship reports through the Ovrture platform, ensure accurate fundriver information flow, execute the process for donor acknowledgments, and execute strategic priorities for donor relations effort where needed;
  • Partner with the Director of Prospect Management & Research to maintain action and proposal entry consistency; create new fields within the database for tracking pertinent student, alumni, and parent information for briefings;
  • Partner with the Director of Special Events to create event invitation lists, globally and by specific location, and to track event-related information in the database to support strategic priorities for engagement metrics;
  • Fulfill all data requests for mailings, invitations, and other activities promptly for team success and serve as the primary contact for all data requests from A&D staff and campus partners.

Analytics, Reporting & Metrics:

  • Maintain and submit annual NAIS DASL survey information including the Alumni Engagement Metric survey;
  • Establish standardized fundraising analysis including predictive modeling within the Alumni & Development Office;
  • Create new reports using native Raiser’s Edge Reporting tools & Excel as needed;
  • Review and update existing reports to meet the needs of the department;
  • Provide annual metrics and reports for the Assistant Head for Development, The Board of Trustees, the Trustee Development Committee, and the Business Office including cash flow, total fundraising, and analytical constituent giving reports.

Staff management:

  • Manage gift processing and data entry staff of 1;
  • Oversee and refine the gift receipting and acknowledgment process;
  • Train new and existing Raiser’s Edge users on best practices to optimize the use of the database.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree;
  • Successful track record of managing Raiser’s Edge database;
  • Demonstrated project management and fundraising-related analytics experience;
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and inclusive decision-making styles;
  • Enthusiastic, curious, flexible, growth-oriented, and strategic mindset;
  • Exceptional ability to organize oneself, manage data, and meet deadlines across multiple projects with varied deadlines;
  • Demonstrated initiative to work independently and savviness to work across diverse teams on multiple projects with deadlines;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and appreciation for culturally responsive professional practices including the ability to value, work with, respect, and incorporate diverse perspectives;
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), Zoom, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email marketing preferred.
