Saint Anselm College, a Catholic, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, seeks a dynamic Associate Director of Annual Giving. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving, the Associate Director of Annual Giving will collaborate with the AVP for Annual Giving and the Annual Giving team to coordinate and execute elements of the college’s comprehensive annual giving campaign, which raises over $3 million annually for unrestricted and restricted gifts in support of current operations.

The Advancement program at Saint Anselm consists of a full-time staff of 24 individuals who raise over $10 million annually. The college has over 350 individual endowed funds as part of an endowment of $200 million. The campus is in the public phase of a project-based campaign for the new School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The Associate Director of Annual Giving will lead all direct marketing efforts for the Saint Anselm Fund. This includes large-scale campaigns, mass appeals, and stewardship. The Associate Director of Annual Giving will manage a portfolio of individuals capable of making leadership annual gifts of $1,000 or more. The Associate Director leads the planning and execution of GiveCampus campaigns, including Giving Tuesday and Days of Giving, to drive participation and donor engagement. Additionally, this role will help implement integrated marketing strategies that support annual giving goals and promote a culture of philanthropy across the Saint Anselm community.

The Associate Director of Annual Giving will manage a portfolio of individuals capable of making leadership annual gifts of $1,000 or more. This position works closely with the Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving to develop, coordinate, and implement comprehensive digital campaigns and ensure that all marketing efforts for annual giving—whether through direct mail, email, social media, or digital platforms—are executed effectively and strategically.

The Associate Director of Annual Giving is also responsible for completing personal visits with alumni, parents, or friends to cultivate relationships and solicit support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Digital Campaign Management: Under the leadership of the Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving, manage the college’s large-scale annual campaigns, including as project manager for Giving Tuesday and Days of Giving.
  • Annual Giving Marketing: Design and implement multi-channel marketing strategies that support annual giving initiatives. This includes developing content for direct mail appeals, email appeals, social media, and other digital platforms to maximize outreach and donor engagement.
  • Stewardship: Continue to build relationships with annual giving donors by enhancing stewardship strategy, including overseeing touchpoints for the Bob Collins Society.
  • Fundraising & Relationship Management: Raise annual dollars for the College through personal solicitations, concentrating on President’s Society gifts of $1,000+. Build and maintain relationships with a portfolio of alumni, parents, and friends capable of making leadership annual gifts, focusing on a specific geographic area. The expectation is to conduct 4-6 visits per month.
  • Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Track and analyze results of digital campaigns, provide insights on donor behavior, and recommend strategies for improvement.
    • Keep abreast of current developments and trends in higher education annual giving strategies and methods.
    • Represent the College and work closely with a range of internal constituencies.
    • Ability to travel and work nights and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree plus 2-4 years of relevant fundraising experience is required. Experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are required may be considered.

  • Broad base of general knowledge and skills in fundraising. Specific experience in annual giving programs and fundraising is desirable. Relevant comparable experience may include public relations or sales.
  • MS Office skills and experience.
  • Experience with GiveCampus products and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and think creatively.
  • Ability to independently initiate, organize, and follow through with program plans and meet deadlines required.
  • Ability to analyze data, extract meaningful conclusions, and report on results.
  • Ability to deal effectively with and represent the College to a wide range of individuals/groups within and outside the college; excellent communication and interpersonal
