The office of Central Development is dedicated to increasing community, tradition, and contributions to the University by working together with the campus community. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Senior Director, Annual Giving and Stewardship (Administrator II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Central Development, the Sr. Director of Annual Giving and Stewardship is responsible for growing and cultivating a broad pipeline of alumni, parents, friends and other constituencies to meet and exceed unit goals to sustain giving and engagement. The Sr. Director will manage a team of professionals to create and execute an array of annual giving activities, stewardship strategies and (parent and family engagement opportunities) using traditional and innovative methods. With the team and Central Development leadership, creates and implements strategies to measure and increase engagement, lead generation, acquisition of donors and grow leadership giving pipeline through effective cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Oversees allocation of and oversight of state and foundation budgets to effectively execute unit strategies and tactics. In addition, the Sr. Director partners effectively with key colleagues within University Advancement and across campus. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field. Six or more years of experience in development with a focus on annual giving. Experience managing and motivating teams. Exemplary interpersonal and written communication skills. Proven track record of soliciting donors, managing relationships and engaging volunteers. Proficient knowledge of digital technology, design tools, and advancement platforms. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Suite with the ability to use the full range of software package (Word, Excel, PPT and Teams). Experience working with sensitive and confidential data
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Commitment to the mission of Cal State Fullerton and it’s culture of philanthropy. Comprehensive knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards in a higher education setting. Experience creating complex segmented fundraising and stewardship campaigns that serve multiple constituent partners with an effective mix of messaging, creativity, and channels. Outstanding collaborative skills and an ability to serve as a member of a team while working independently across diverse constituencies. A flexible work style that adapts to changing needs and trends, strong work ethic, self-motivation, discipline, and personal integrity. Ability to analyze needs, propose solutions, and motivate and inspire others to action.
