Senior Assistant Director, Alumni and Family Engagement

Supports the Director, Alumni and Family Volunteers on implementing volunteer leaders to build vibrant networks through alumni and family communities in key regional/global markets. Works on special projects that further the goals of University Advancement in alignment with the Falcons Forward 2030 strategic plan for the university. Provides operational support and enhances processes and programs in support of this work.

Essential Duties

  • Collaborates with the Director, Alumni and Family Volunteers on Bentley Ambassadors roles to advance alumni engagement and collaboration with the university.
  • Supports the Director, Alumni and Family Volunteers on implementing new family initiatives and assists with the Parent’s Council.
  • Assists the Director, Alumni and Family Volunteers on affinity-based based that include but not limited to the Bentley Mosaic Alumni Council and corporate communities.
  • In partnership with the Director, Alumni and Family Volunteers, cultivates relationships with leaders of alumni and family communities, identifies leadership needs, recruits potential new leaders, and broadens and strengthens pipeline of volunteers.
  • May also support committees, task forces, and working groups as needed.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2 years of alumni engagement and/or development experience, or equivalent transferable experience.
  • Ability to travel to regions across the country.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier.
  • Demonstrated creative planning, organizational, and project management skills; self-motivated and able to set priorities and manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Collaborative and collegial approach to working with teams; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work.
  • Ability to travel to work related events and meetings both on and off campus; travel may occur outside normal business hours including nights and weekends.
