Beaver is looking for a self-motivated and creative fundraising professional to join our team as the Director of Annual Campaigns. The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker with a proven track record in annual giving-level fundraising. This individual will bring optimism, vision, and creativity to Beaver’s fundraising efforts and will be a strategic team player with excellent communication skills. The Director of Annual Campaigns will report directly to the Associate Director of Philanthropy and Engagement.

This is a full-time position that will report directly to the Associate Director of Philanthropy and Engagement. 

 PHILANTHROPY AT BEAVER

Beaver’s Annual Fund plays a crucial role in supporting the school’s people and programs. Our Annual Fund has grown significantly, consistently raising over $2M annually. Notable past efforts include securing $5.7M for endowment during Beaver’s Centennial in 2020 and a $25M campaign from 2016-2019 that funded the Research + Design Center.

 JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Annual Campaigns will be responsible for strategizing, designing, and implementing Beaver’s comprehensive annual giving program. This role involves leading various programs, events, and communications to increase current-use giving and participation. The Director will create and manage a detailed annual fundraising plan, including multiple solicitation methods and a communications schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing major annual fundraising campaigns.
  • Overseeing direct mail, email, and social media campaigns.
  • Managing annual giving programs, including parent/alumni giving days and faculty/staff campaigns.
  • Engaging with donors and managing a portfolio of prospects.
  • Analyzing campaign data to inform strategy and improve outcomes.

This position also plays a role in the major gifts strategy for the Philanthropy + Engagement team and manages a portfolio of prospects. The Director must also work creatively to match donor interests with the school’s priorities and build meaningful relationships with individuals for purposes of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts to the school.

FUNDRAISING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage annual giving direct mail campaigns, digital communications, and solicitation plans.
  • Develop and execute major fundraising campaigns targeting specific communities.
  • Increase Annual Fund participation and leadership giving.
  • Provide data-driven analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee direct marketing campaigns and manage external vendors.

ENGAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage volunteers for donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Lead the Alumni Association and work with volunteer committees.
  • Collaborate with faculty volunteers to promote staff giving.
  • Engage and support volunteers in fundraising activities.
  • Manage Reunion Class giving and engagement.
  • Participate in regional events and discovery visits.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in annual giving-level fundraising.
  • Proven success in managing an annual fund program and closing gifts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with persuasive abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Direct experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred; experience with crowdfunding platforms is a plus.
