PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Develop and coordinate digital fundraising strategies to inspire giving and build sustained support for the University of Toledo. Serve as a point of contact with digital vendor partners to ensure effective targeting strategies are in place to encourage donor support. Work collaboratively with the Development and Alumni Engagement teams, as well as assigned college and campus partners to increase annual donations, as well as donor acquisition and retention.

  • Create and implement plans to annually boost donor acquisition and retention using digital methods like crowdfunding, email marketing, text messaging, special campaigns (e.g., Day of Giving), and dedicated giving pages.
  • Assist with the implementation and review of a strong data-driven solicitation system by proactively measuring and tracking digital fundraising efforts with the help of IT and vendor partners to drive donor acquisition and retention.
  • Monitor industry best practices in digital fundraising and philanthropy, recommending and implementing new strategies in support of the strategic plan.
  • Work in collaboration with assigned campus partners to develop, plan and execute annual giving focused strategic cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies that encourage alumni, friends, students and parents to give.
  • Plan, execute and lead Senior Class Gift Campaign.
  • Partner with communications and marketing teams to create compelling digital annual giving content that enhances donor engagement.
  • Utilize social media platforms and digital tools to expand the organization’s donor base and cultivate relationships with new audiences by sharing annual giving related content.
  • Coordinate direct mail solicitations to compliment online strategies, when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Stewardship to promote annual giving-related societies using digital tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with Advancement staff and campus partners to cultivate and steward donors with a focus on moving donors to higher giving levels to ensure continued annual support.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, goal planning, and other tasks as needed for special campaigns including Day of Giving.
  • Respond to needs/concerns of donors regarding fundraising efforts
  • Create customized giving reports for Advancement staff, deans, donors and faculty as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in development or a related field. Must have a demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, as well as experience in managing budgets and conducting statistical analysis to inform decision-making. Proficiency in or the ability to quickly learn industry-specific donor software is essential. Flexibility is also important, as the role may require occasional evening and weekend work to support events and donor engagement efforts.
