The Hun School of Princeton seeks a strategic Advancement Services Manager who is motivated by data-backed work and analysis and working collaboratively with teammates to further the mission of the School. The Advancement Services Manager is a 12-month, full-time position, reporting to the Director of Advancement.

The Advancement Services Manager provides vital support for Hun’s advancement team and leads overall functions related to information/data. These include gift processing, financial report creation, analysis and forecasting in response to – and anticipation of – fundraising needs while assuring quality, consistency, and accuracy of all data through detail-oriented management of the database.

Essential Duties:

The Advancement Services Manager serves as the primary resource for the team as it relates to constituent data, analysis, and reports.

Responsibilities:

Database management:

  • Maintain the structure and integrity of the database, including creation of new records, updating records, tracking events, and updating data from other platforms (Veracross, Finalsite) as needed;
  • Create queries based on solicitation and event segmentation strategies in Raiser’s Edge. Provide support in the creation of reports for mailing lists and data and name tags needed for events;
  • Train fellow Advancement colleagues on best-practices within the respective duties of their positions at Hun to help optimize data self-sufficiency, and encourage teammates to use the donor database to maximize productivity in their individual professional roles.

Gift Entry and Acknowledgement:

  • Enter pledges and gifts in a timely manner with keen attention to detail for accuracy in gift processing;
  • Produce receipt, acknowledgment, and pledge letters; process matching gift requests; manage employee payroll deductions; track gifts to various appeals, including the Annual Fund, campaigns, and other fundraising initiatives;
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the business office to set up new funds, campaigns, and balance daily gifts;
  • Supply supporting documentation as requested by the business office for annual audit.

Advancement reports:

  • With guidance from the Chief Advancement Officer, create and produce reports, lists, and statistical data as needed by the Advancement team, School leadership and Advancement volunteers. Such reports could include tracking fundraising progress, donor pipelines and year-to-year trends that support overall Advancement strategy and multi-year planning.
  • In addition to routine needs, pulls lists of donors for the Annual Report and completes the annual NAIS/DASL data entry.

Prospect research:

  • Monitor news sources for information regarding members of the Hun community;
  • Assess and determine capacity and inclination ratings through electronic and peer screening ;
  • Produce research briefings on individuals and foundations;
  • Suggest and implement new and innovative ways to help team maximize the use of data to understand donor behavior and drive fundraising;
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the advancement team to successfully achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Strong background in data/systems management;
  • Extensive knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and NXT required, Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including responsive customer service and strong oral and written communication;
  • Ability to research and institute new ways that data can be recorded and extracted in an effort to enhance advancement efforts;
  • Superior project management skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize information with acute attention to detail;
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered or redesigned as necessary;

  • Ability to work select nights and/or weekends for school-wide events.
