Graduate Alumni Giving Officer, Annual Giving

GRADUATE ALUMNI GIVING OFFICER, ANNUAL GIVING, Alumni Association, to set the strategic direction for the graduate alumni annual giving program and oversee progress toward goals through comprehensive analytical measures that include a combination of assessing direct fundraising and portfolio management results. Will manage a portfolio of annual leadership giving donors and prospects and lead efforts in collaboration with Resource Development staff and MIT school development officers to promote giving opportunities that match the Institute’s philanthropic priorities and graduate alumni interests; work with a cadre of graduate school alumni leaders in the Graduate Alumni Council to fundraise on select giving days and serve as a sounding board on fundraising initiatives; partner with the Annual Giving Marketing Program team to develop a set of broad-based graduate school appeals for direct fundraising; and serve as a spokesperson for annual giving initiatives at alumni board meetings and with development colleagues in the schools/departments/labs/centers.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; five years’ annual giving experience, including soliciting closing gifts, preferably in nonprofit fundraising environments; experience working with and managing volunteers; excellent analytical, interpersonal, listening, and written and verbal communication skills; emotional intelligence; ability to engage collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues, faculty, leadership, donors, alumni, volunteers, and other external constituents; initiative and self-motivation; attention to detail; ability to handle diversified tasks; proven record of accomplishment in a position requiring independent planning and efficient utilization of time and resources; discretion and good judgment with confidential information; and proficiency with standard computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED: Experience with Ellucian Advance Web or other enterprise fundraising system and volunteer management portal systems. 

This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.

Must be willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Travel will occasionally be required as well.
