As a Digital Gift Officer, you will support the mission of the WSU Foundation (WSUF) and WSU Advancement (WSUA). The Digital Gift Officer leverages relationship-building skills with a genuine desire to help people connect their passions with their philanthropy at Washington State University. This position will be part of a team of fundraisers committed to building a leadership annual giving program that aligns with WSU’s efforts to develop pathways to profound engagement at scale. 

The Digital Gift Officer will help increase the number of donors and philanthropic dollars raised through qualification and solicitation efforts and targeting gifts of $1,000-10,000. This position will be responsible for renewing, retaining, upgrading, and qualifying donors and will have fundraising goals forecasted specifically for their portfolios. This position relies on strong partnerships with colleagues across the WSU system and will be a liaising role to major and planned gift officers in effort to move donors through the philanthropic pipeline.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Comfortable and willing to communicate with prospects to ask for donations via cold calling, recorded videos, texting, email, and one-on-one video conference meetings.

  • Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video conferencing software such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Demonstrated written and oral communication and interpersonal skills that include tact, diplomacy, and discretion. 

  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and demands. 

  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of disciplines.

  • Ability to be results-oriented, acting decisively to achieve results.

  • Ability to take initiative on skills and professional development.

  • Ability to travel as needed. Occasional workweek travel, as well as evening and weekend work will occur.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with contemporary issues and methods of fundraising and philanthropy.

  • Experience within the professional field of annual giving or higher education.

  • Experience with digital fundraising or integrated multi-channel marketing or sales strategies.

  • Experience with a CRM, digital marketing, or sales-enablement platforms.

Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 – $5,397.56

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
