Vice President of Advancement

Point Park University seeks an innovative, results-oriented leader to serve as the Vice President of Advancement. The successful candidate for this position will contribute to the success of the efforts of the University by strengthening a growing culture of philanthropy by designing and implementing a major gifts and gift planning function and building the University Endowment, generating support from donors through corporate and major individual gifts, charitable trusts, life income, real estate gifts, and other means of planned giving. This position is responsible for oversight of the Office of Alumni Engagement and Giving and for developing and managing a portfolio of philanthropic prospects, along with developing planned gifts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating a plan with measurable goals and objectives, sound business practices, and proven tactics to secure planned gifts.
  • Maintain a dynamic portfolio of high net worth individuals and secure major, capital, and planned gifts, as well as advanced annual gifts and endowment support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Board of Trustees to generate annual giving donations.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Alumni Engagement and Giving to create and execute fundraising plans that utilize best practices in major and planned gift programs.
  • Prepare for campaigns through comprehensive and effective campaign planning and execution.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher plus ten or more years of experience as a senior level advancement professional, preferably in higher education
  • Successful record of developing and implementing a major gifts program
  • Record of leadership and accomplishment in advancement with a proven track record of fundraising success, especially with campaign planning/execution and major gift solicitation
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to favorably affect sophisticated donors
  • Proven track record of meeting aggressive development goals
