Vice President of Institutional Advancement

The position of Vice President of Institutional Advancement is a full-time position. The VP of Institutional Advancement will oversee all aspects of development for the BAC, including Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Alumni Relations, Corporate & Foundation Relations, and Development Operations. The Vice President of Institutional Advancement position requires a creative leader to work as a key member of the leadership team with the President, Board of Directors, and faculty to lead its development department. This leadership position is a unique opportunity for a talented and committed fundraising professional to help realize the “BAC To The Future” vision and significantly enhance the BAC’s institutional advancement efforts. The VP of Institutional Advancement will lead a staff that is committed to advancing the profile of the BAC across all constituencies and significantly increasing the level of philanthropic support.
Responsibilities and Duties
- The overall value-based leadership and strategic direction and execution of fundraising actions in support of the BAC To The Future strategic plan.
- Spearheading the cultivation, solicitation and execution of gifts, and stewardship of donors.
- Hiring and managing development staff, and preparing and managing fundraising budget.
- Working closely with the BAC leadership and other support networks, including the President, board and faculty in developing a prospect pool of individual donors.
- Collaborating with BAC leaders to identify corporate and foundation opportunities for support.
- Demonstrate the BAC’s standards of professionalism encapsulated in the College’s values of design, diversity, empathy, excellence, inclusion, innovation, integrity, resilience and respect.
Qualifications
- Appreciation and understanding of the Boston Architectural College’s unique mission, innovative educational model, and ability to communicate them.
- Demonstrated major gift success including strategy development, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Senior-level fundraising achievements, including planning for, growing and managing a successful development program and or/capital campaign, and to manage Legacy giving efforts.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Interest in design and awareness of the requirements of higher education
- Ability to work collaboratively in a complex organization.
- The ability to think and plan strategically.
- The ability to lead, manage and motivate staff.
- The ability to work collaboratively with volunteers.
- Interest in assisting with the College’s capital and global development efforts.
- Experience motivating and managing volunteer leadership.
- Availability for travel.
Requirements
- Master’s degree plus ten years of progressive professional development and Institutional Advancement experience.
