Moving On
There may come a time when you realize that you need to let something go.
It may be an appeal letter you’ve been trying to write or a donor relationship that you’ve been trying to cultivate. It may be a campaign you’ve been trying to launch or a program you’ve been trying to improve. It may be new idea you’ve been trying to develop or an old process that you’ve been trying to maintain.
You may have spent weeks or months or even years working on it. Or you may have just started working on it this morning.
You may have made some good progress. Or you may have made none at all.
You may realize this because a friend or a colleague or a family member makes an observation or offers you some advice. Or it may have come from a little voice inside your head. It may also simply be a feeling.
There may be a logical reason. Perhaps you have other priorities that need you more. Or maybe you just don’t have the interest or the motivation to give it the attention it deserves.
Or maybe there’s no specific reason at all. You just know that the time has come to let it go…and move on.
